Faraj Khan Pathan

Faraj Khan Pathan was born on March 14, 1999, in Plano, Texas. He was raised in a close-knit family in the North Texas area. Pathan's interest in technology began in high school when he started building computers. This early engagement led him to assist local non-profit organizations with their account security, sparking his interest in cybersecurity.

Pathan attended the University of Texas at Dallas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and Systems. His coursework included a focus on areas such as cybersecurity, identity governance, risk management, and cloud security. This course of study provided him with a foundation for his subsequent career in cybersecurity and compliance.

Pathan's career in cybersecurity began with internships at Deloitte and Active Cyber. He served as an IAM intern at Active Cyber from June to November 2021. He then transitioned to Deloitte, where he held positions as a Cyber Risk Intern and Cyber Risk Analyst. He later became a Cybersecurity Consultant at Deloitte, gaining experience in integrating client identity systems with platforms such as Okta SSO, Ping Federate, and Saviynt Identity Cloud.

Pathan is currently a Senior Associate in AI Security and Compliance at Alvarez & Marsal. Throughout his career, he has been involved in various aspects of cybersecurity, including documentation, requirements gathering, client workshops, cloud identity, stakeholder communication, and compliance operations. He has also supported financial advisory cybersecurity clients and managed IAM documentation.

Faraj Khan Pathan has not been involved in any major public controversies. However, it has been noted that some colleagues have debated whether his approach to risk review is excessively meticulous. Pathan has stated that his detailed risk-review process is a necessary component of working in regulated environments.

Pathan is based in Dallas, Texas, and frequently travels for consulting projects. During his time as a student, Pathan served as the treasurer for Pi Kappa Phi fraternity from 2020 to 2022, overseeing an annual budget of over $100,000.
